Felicity Buchan MP has written to the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and the Deputy Mayor for Crime and Policing, Sophie Linden, to request a permanent police prescence in North Kensington.
The MP for Kensington said that she would welcome an extension to the lease on Royalty Studios or a base at an alternate site. She argued that this would deliver a much needed service for the community and dovetail with the new Met Commissioner's emphasis on frontline policing.

Dear Mr Mayor,
I am writing to you to express both mine and my constituents’ wish for a permanent police presence in North Kensington.
My constituents and I would welcome an extension to the lease to the Royalty Studios or for the police to find an alternate site. A permanent police presence is needed and requested by this community – a community that still bears the scars of the Grenfell tragedy five years on. This issue was raised by many residents at a Local Crime Meeting I recently held.
I know that the new Chief of the Metropolitan Police, Sir Mark Rowley, has spoken of his desire for a greater emphasis on frontline policing. A permanent home for policing in North Kensington would deliver on this promise, and for this community.
I would be grateful if you would consider this request in light of my, and my constituents’, deep concern for the future of its police protection. I would also appreciate a meeting with you to discuss the status of Notting Hill Police Station.
Yours sincerely,
Felicity
