Felicity Buchan has celebrated the return of Notting Hill Carnival after a two year absence due to Covid-19.
The MP for Kensington joined the festivities on Sunday, alongside hardworking organisers and volunteers, and was pleased to see revellers enjoying themselves safely. She was shocked to learn of the outbreaks of violence, as well as a tragic murder, during Monday night's celebrations.
Felicity said:
"Notting Hill Carnival is a tent of our local culture in Kensington, and am thrilled that it has returned again. It is sickening that this event has been tarnished be senseless violence, and I have been assured that homicide detectives will pursue every possible line of inquiry to identify those responsible and bring them to justice."
