Felicity Buchan Calls on Thames Water to invest more in flooding protection

I held a call with senior officials at Thames Water to raise my concerns over FLIP availibility in Kensington. 

In response to the flooding in 2021, Thames Water has allocated £10m to install FLIPs in Kensington properties at risk of flooding as part of their phase 1 plans. However, that money is only being allocated to properties that were flooded in 2021. The money does not go far enough to protect all high risk properties that were flooded in 2021, let alone in other years.

Thames Water needs to make enough money available to remedy all high risk properties affected by 2021 and previous floods.

I will also be raising this with the Flooding Minister at DEFRA.
