This week, Paddington station had to close temporarily after two tube lines were submerged due to heavy flooding. This is another reminder that our area of central London is prone to flooding.
I am concerned that Thames Water is not doing enough to invest in long-term infrastructure to protect Kensington from flooding events; and, where Thames Water has invested in short-term measures, infrastructure has been focused on areas affected in 2021 as opposed to looking at all areas at risk.
This is a sticking plaster policy which does not address the long-term issue. I have raised this point with Thames Water and will share their response.
