I hosted Chief Executives and managing directors from Housing Associations at a parliamentary roundtable. The purpose of the meeting was to raise the concerns of constituents who are resident in social housing in Kensington.
The meeting was very constructive and provided a good opportunity to mention specific problems highlighted by residents and to talk in general about how we can improve the quality of social housing and the responsiveness of landlords.
Issues raised included damp and mould, water leaks, vermin infestation, as well as anti-social behaviour and noise disturbance, concerns about communication with Housing Officers and increases in service charges.
Each of the attendees took on board these focus points and I will be maintaining regular contact with all of the attending Housing Associations to ensure that improvements are made and support provided to all tenants.
