I returned to Al-Hasinaya today to meet with Souad Talsi MBE, who founded the Centre in 1985, along with her fantastic team.
Following the devastating earthquake in Morocco the Centre has worked proactively to raise donations, coordinate relief efforts and support the Moroccan diaspora in North Kensington.
It was useful to catch up with the group, to hear their views and to offer my support for the brilliant work they do. I will of course return soon.
Please see the Centre's Emergency Appeal Below:
URGENT APPEAL
Powerful earthquake kills thousands in Morocco’s High Atlas regionHelp us protect the vulnerable victims of the earthquake.
Huge thank you to all those who have donated so generously. We are deeply grateful.
As we move from the immediate devastation of the earthquake that took over 3000 lives, both national efforts and international aid are beginning to assess the awful damage left by this brutal natural disaster. As an organisation that prides itself on protecting, supporting, and empowering women, we know that this victim group is likely to be further damaged by exploitation and abuse of all sorts.
We urgently need your support to ensure every woman victim is supported to live a life of dignity, integrity, and void of any exploitation of any sort.
Donations are needed. Please help us.
Every donor will be contacted and given a full report of how their donation has been spent, where sent and the difference it has made.
